Learn to climb, build confidence and have fun!

Our Children’s Climbing Club gives young people aged 8–12 the opportunity to learn climbing skills, grow in confidence and progress through a series of fun challenges.

Sessions are suitable for complete beginners as well as children who already have some climbing experience. Everyone learns at their own pace in a supportive, challenge-by-choice environment. Our qualified climbing instructors will offer encouragement and guidance without placing children under pressure to climb higher than they feel ready for.

Base Camp

New climbers will begin their journey at Base Camp, the first stage of our Children’s Climbing Club.

Children will work towards five key achievements:

  • Building their confidence
  • Reaching new heights
  • Learning useful climbing moves and techniques
  • Putting on and adjusting their harness
  • Completing Grade 4 climbs

Progress is recorded in each child’s own Base Camp booklet. Once they have completed all five challenges, they will receive a Base Camp certificate and be ready to progress to the next stage, Scrambler.

Along the way, children will also be encouraged to set personal challenges, celebrate their achievements and support their fellow climbers.
