We are delighted to welcome Logan McKelvie to YMCA Taunton as the newest member of our team. Logan will be running our new climbing hall.
Logan is an exceptionally experienced outdoor professional, originally from New Zealand, with a career spanning more than 23 years across New Zealand, Canada, Wales, and the UK. His background includes roles such as Rock Climbing Instructor, Outdoor Activity Tutor, Lead Water Sport Instructor, Operations Manager, and Centre Manager for several respected organisations.
He brings an extensive skill set covering rock climbing, mountaineering, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, caving, skiing, sailing, archery, 4×4 driving, and diving. His logged experience includes over 1,000 days of climbing, 1,200+ days of hiking, 700+ days of kayaking, and more than 1,400 days across other technical outdoor activities.
Logan is a highly qualified practitioner, holding numerous National Governing Body awards across climbing, paddlesports, rescue, boating, first aid, and high ropes instruction.
He is also a dedicated family man with two young children, and we are pleased to welcome his whole family into the YMCA community.
We are genuinely excited to have Logan join us and look forward to working with him as we continue to develop our climbing facility and expand opportunities for young people and the wider community.
