We are delighted to announce that Connor Franks will be joining YMCA Taunton as our new Climbing Instructor.

Connor brings with him a wealth of experience in climbing, mountaineering, outdoor leadership and youth development. A passionate advocate for the outdoors, Connor has spent years developing his skills and experience through mountain leadership, climbing, expeditioning and working with young people through Scouting.

As a qualified Rock Climbing Instructor (RCI) and Mountain Leader, Connor combines strong technical expertise with a genuine passion for helping others develop confidence, skills and a lifelong enjoyment of the outdoors. He also holds both Outdoor First Aid and First Aid at Work qualifications, further demonstrating his commitment to safe and high-quality activity delivery.

Alongside his formal qualifications, Connor has extensive experience working with young people through the Scout movement, where he has held leadership roles across a range of age groups. His commitment to creating positive, inclusive and rewarding outdoor experiences aligns perfectly with the values of YMCA Taunton.

You may see Connor around site over the next few days as he undertakes induction and familiarises himself with our facilities and programmes ahead of his official start date on 22nd June.

We are incredibly pleased to welcome Connor to the team and look forward to the enthusiasm, expertise and energy he will bring as we continue to grow and develop our climbing provision.

Book a climb with Connor in the Wrencon Climbing Wall soon.
